Steering Committee Meeting Minutes for July 16, 2001
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm.
Present: Walt, Susan, Suzanne, Pauline, Ken and Ruby. Robert and Dianne Metevia,
guests.
Absent: Carolyn, Rhonda and Richard
The June 2001 minutes were approved.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Suzanne's daughter said that the cost of litigation over the freezer incident would run about
$2000. Ken moved to write off the expense of the freezer and Pauline seconded the motion. The motion passed.
The cheese case condenser unit needs to be moved to the basement. Ken made a motion to
accept the proposal from Mac's All-Temp. Susan seconded the motion. For $2450 the freezer would be re-piped and openings sealed. The proposal needs re-writing, so the proposal was voted down until reworded for
clarity. The board wants an electrical bid to accompany it.
The lettering on the store windows will be completed this summer.
As part of the reconstruction of HNG, the area for pastas and grains must be kept at 50-70
degrees and dehumidified.
Rhonda's kids distributed candy and Ken drove the float for the Fourth of July parade.
Our website now has two access names: hillsdalecoop.com and
hillsdalenaturalgrocery.com.
Suzanne appointed Walt and Ken to brainstorm about the possibility of a change in membership
fee.
There is currently no space for a copier. We will consider renting one in the
future.
A wall was erected downstairs and a door was added. The HNG logo can be painted on the
back door for $40.
NEW BUSINESS
This is our 30th year of business. Think of possibilities for celebrating!
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pn.
Respectfully submitted,
Susan Rathmell
